Buyer Point: Who is Angelini Professional and what is your target clientele?
Vincenzo Angelini: We started as a neighborhood business with clear ideas from the beginning: our core business had to be the world of the craftsman. In those days, the professional closest to the world of hardware was the carpenter, then over the years the market has experienced several changes and with it the fields of application of the artisans have changed: we have moved from iron to aluminum, to finished products. The constant in these over 40 years has always been our initial idea, maintained and confirmed year after year, that is, our professional target.
Buyer Point: Just as the profile of the craftsman has changed over the years, that of the private user has also undergone an evolution, especially in recent times…
Vincenzo Angelini: It’s true, the two targets are always very distant, but over the years the hobbyist has evolved, making a virtue out of necessity, due to the difficulty that exists today, compared to the past, of finding a free craftsman in the area. Furthermore, we also serve hobbyists who are looking for the classic “unobtainable” products in large specialized stores.
Buyer Point: Is Tecnomat your main competitor today?
Vincenzo Angelini: Let’s say there is healthy competition, but in addition to sharing the product range and the target clientele, I can say that we are two very distinct realities.
Buyer Point: If Tecnomat has the depth of range and exhibition space on its side, what distinguishes Angelini Professional?
Vincenzo Angelini: Thanks to the work done over the years, today we position ourselves as a leader in technological proposals and point-of-sale consulting. Once there were many building warehouses, several within a few kilometers, today there are these large surfaces that, however, are not as specific and focused on the professional as we are.On our side we have knowledge of the subject, the territory and the clientele.If we wanted to wage a price war with the distribution giants, we would already be defeated, which is why we have decided to focus on consulting and the professionalism and training of our sales staff, who know the most technologically advanced products and know how to explain them to customers. For us, service is fundamental, we do training in collaboration with suppliers to always be at the forefront and offer the best to our customers. We create culture in our sector, managing to stand out and make a difference.



Buyer Point: Sharing is another important aspect that sees you as protagonists in two different consortia.
Vincenzo Angelini: Exactly, we are present in two consortia: Dialfer for hardware, of which I am President, and Azzurro Group for aluminum. In both groups we have the opportunity to compare ourselves with other realities similar to us, but which work in territories profoundly different from ours. The understanding of other markets, the comparison and the sharing are fundamental and improve us, making us grow daily.
Buyer Point: How do you envision the future of Italian hardware distribution?
Vincenzo Angelini: In the future there will be very rapid upheavals, those who have the ability to anticipate them will stay afloat. New scenarios will arise, but the hardware sector will always thrive. In recent years we have witnessed unexpected events that have inevitably changed everyone’s purchasing habits. Even today, the hardware supply chain suffers from serious delays in imports, but our choices made in the past allow us not to suffer major consequences from the current situation. In fact, we have mainly Italian and European suppliers, minimizing those from the Far East: our warehouse also allows us to have a significant advantage, which today makes the difference.
Buyer Point: Will the future of Angelini Professional always be innovation?
Vincenzo Angelini: Innovation for us is the lifeblood and creating culture in a technical sector like ours is fundamental. For us, innovation is what allows us to position ourselves as a market leader, precisely because we are disseminators of novelties for our customers. Also in this perspective, we have been organizing for years “Angelini Professional In Tour” , an event with suppliers and customers in which we provide answers to daily problems: we don’t just sell the product, but also the advantages that come from using that product.
