Viridea a Carate Brianza

A new Viridea garden center will open in Carate Brianza in 2026

Construction has officially begun on the new Viridea garden center in Carate Brianza (MB), near Milan: this is the eleventh store in the garden center chain – the largest in Italy – which joins the Tuscan store in Legnaia, acquired in 2021.

The new Viridea garden center, the first in Brianza and the eighth in Lombardy, will be located in the municipality of Carate Brianza, on the edge of the Statale 36.

Demolition work on existing buildings is currently underway, while from the beginning of 2025 the project will enter its core phase with the start of construction of the new garden center, which is scheduled to open in spring 2026.

With over 7,000 square meters of sales area and a total area of over 46,000 square meters, the new store will be characterized by the well-established product range, which includes plants and gardening products, home accessories and DIY products, garden furniture proposals and pet care products.

The offer will be completed by a large area dedicated to Christmas, with a real market that will be open every year from mid-October to the end of January. Alongside the sales area, which will also include 2,600 square meters of outdoor space dedicated to the nursery, the Viridea garden center in Carate Brianza will have a 16,000 square meter outdoor area for customer reception and leisure. In this space, freely accessible to families, there will be a park complete with a pond and a children’s play area. The welcome will be further enriched by the presence of Erba Matta, the Viridea-branded restaurant and cafeteria already present in the Cusago and Rho (MI) stores, which will occupy an area of 900 square meters. A large parking area with more than 300 parking spaces will also be available at the center. On the occasion of the new opening, it is expected to hire about 70 new figures including sales assistants, department managers, and restaurant staff, who will be selected from local resources.

“We are thrilled to have officially started construction on the new garden center in Carate Brianza – commented Stefano Rappo, sole director of Viridea -. These early development phases of the project have allowed us to establish excellent relationships with local institutions and we are confident that we have laid the groundwork for a positive collaboration with the community. We are proud to continue to grow and contribute to creating new professional opportunities, while at the same time offering a unique recreational experience for the entire family in our spaces.”

In 2023, Viridea garden centers welcomed over 7 million visitors, generating a turnover of €87.4 million, an increase of +4.6% compared to the previous year.
